Jay Martinez is Managing Director and Vice President of Investments of Hudson Partners, a full service commercial real estate company. He specializes in sales, dispositions and leasing of commercial properties in regions of Los Angeles. Additionally, he is a board member of the Strategic Asset Advisory Group (SAAG), a unit of Hudson Partners Investment Services Group.
Mr. Martinez’s focus on properties in the range of $2 million-$15 million has earned him a loyal following of independent investors, syndicators and owner-users who have come to rely on his energy, diligence and strong track record evaluating, marketing, buying and selling properties of this type. His in-depth and specialized market knowledge has also helped numerous Lenders with the sale of their bank-owned properties. Since he began his career, Mr. Martinez has successfully completed more than $500 million worth of transactions.
Recent prominent transactions include the sale of a 24,000 square foot office and medical building in Simi Valley, CA for $4.8 million; the sale of a 38,750 square foot retail/office building in West Hills, CA for just over $4.85 million representing Lowe’s Home Improvement. A 20,478 square foot office building sale in Mission Hills, CA for $4 million; the sale of Calabasas Center office campus for $8 million; and the sale of an office building at 10999 Riverside Drive in Toluca Lake at $4.5 million. Joey Bishop Estate sale a retail building located at Beverly and Robertson at $6.2 million. Most recently, closed Northridge Medical Plaza at $9.9 million, 45,000 SF office building.
Mr. Martinez began his career in 1999, shortly after graduating from USC’s Marshall School of Business. He embarked his real estate career by syndicating for high-net worth individuals and private capital into apartment buildings throughout Los Angeles. In 2004, Jay Martinez joined Marcus & Millichap Investment Brokerage in downtown Los Angeles. His first year at the firm, his assiduous work ethic earned him “Rookie of the Year”. Mr. Martinez decided to reinvigorate his approach and began focusing on retail and office investment properties. He was quickly promoted to Senior Investment Associate and earned an Outstanding Achievement Award in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
After 3 well accomplished years at Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Martinez elected to join Lee & Associates as Principal to the firm. His full year he was inducted into the “President’s Circle of Excellent” and awarded “Principal of the Year”. He was named one of the Top 5 Performers at Lee & Associates in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2012, Hudson Commercial Partners Inc. was formed; it was a collection of seasoned veterans, who were driven by the unique idea to turn real estate brokers into shareholders of the company. Jay Martinez is a founding member and Managing Principal at Hudson Partners Investment Brokerage; he still actively purchases distressed notes and properties.
Mr. Martinez has cultivated long-term relationships with many of his clients; He actively participates in partnerships with clients in purchasing distressed notes and properties. Since 2008, Mr. Martinez has exclusively listed and sold over 50 bank owned transactions.
